I wish Ubuntu went with Gnome 3 over Unity. Fedora is great but it is more "free" than Ubuntu as Fedora includes fewer/no? proprietary drivers by default so it is a little bit more work to get running on some hardware.
I like fedora, but I agree with you 100%, its a pain to upgrade because it requires a lot of tweaking to get it to work on my system. I went with an nividia GPU not only to make my desktop hackintoshable but also so I can download the the proprietary drivers. ATI linux support is pathetic. Still even with the drivers, I have to work at tweaking the system to get it working the way I want it too.

Regardless of any moral principals involved, it is 'can we get away with it?', or even more disgusting, 'can we make enough profit to justify the legal settlement?'. It is truly a sorry state of affairs we find ourselves in; where the moral fiber of our country is solely based on the personal pursuit of wealth. Personally, I find this individual loathsome.

thank god you are not a brain surgeon. This is no different then paying for internet @ home and getting a modem (cell phone) that only allows connection to one PC (cell phone). Then being forced to pay an extra fee just to split the signal to another PC (use a router in this example).

I am not sure if the pricing reported earlier for the videos is correct, but I did want to comment on one thing...
If the pricing IS correct ($9.99 for iPod version, $14.99 for TV version, $19.99 for both) then the movie studios who didn't sign on because they didn't feel those prices were fair can go and "F" themselves. :)
Essentially $20 bucks for 2 electronic versions with no DVD packaging, manufacturing and shipping to deal with could make a lot of money for the studios. To say that price is "not good enough" on their behalf just smacks of greed.
Whether $20 a pop is a good price for the consumer is debatable...it depends on their tech level. Those of us reading these forums mostly would rather go buy a new DVD in the store for $20 and then rip it ourselves for our own use. But many others don't want to be bothered, and would be happy to have pre-ripped versions for download and avoid ammassing an even larger collection of DVD boxes taking up space in their bookshelves.
Just like with new Mac computer releases...Apple comes up with options designed for the entire base they plan to sell to, not solely based on "power-user" needs/desires. $20 a pop is NOT "too expensive" for pricing for many...it's not a DISCOUNTED price, but it's a fair price and if the movies need to sell for $20 to get all the studios on board (in the future, if not now), that is more important than trying to be an uber-discount movie sales site.

Squarely wrong. Even "The Inquirer" has talked about the vastly superior multitasking AND SMP features of OS X Leopard, as compared to what Vista seems to offer. Damn, even today any version of Windows crawls far behind OS X in that (XP Home didn't even have SMP support in the first place).
Second: the fact that IDF didn't have any "octo" machines derives from the simple and obvious assessment that Apple does NOT have any "octo" machines. Anything else would be just illegal.
And the lack of any OS X-running "quad" machines is not surprising either, given the usual (and) historical focus of the IDF; besides, it's an easy fallacy to assert that the non-existence of machines "running OS X" in quad configurations at a certain event means a lack of capacity by OS X to do so. Shipping is $20 on the right side they have all ready added it in. on the white set it says $120 on left and right, but if you notice it also says for local pick up. It's only when you hit the shipping tab that you can set it from local pick up to UPS ground. After that, both the white set and the black set are $140 after shipping. No Tax.

I'm really tee'd off now.
Have avoided all websites except this forum thread for the last 3 hours and haven't gone near my email neither, then some b'stard comes in and drops a fat giveaway URL without even obfuscating it and telling us its a spoiler.
I even managed to look at google finance to check the aapl share price without seeing any giveaway news articles.
I'm not going to look at any specs and hope there's another small surprise or two in the keynote.
Git's each and everyone who's posted the leak or commented on it thinking well someone else has already let the cat out of the bag.

If this rumor is true (I am leaning towards its truth) - what implications does it have for the ipad LTE ? Does the recent adoption of ipad in the verizon stores mean there will be a double whammy LTE introduction of ipad/iphone LTE editions - that could really wollup the competition - should be interesting.
