I wonder how difficult it would be find an individual with the talents needed both on the Software Engineering side & the GIS (Geographic Information Systems) side. Most GIS education these days doesn't really focus on programming. Infact, most GIS "programs" are just crash courses on how to operate ESRI products.

In the industy's defense, since it is their copyrighted content, they technically get to set the rules.
That's the problem. The industry thinks that they can set the rules, when in fact it's the law makers and the judges that decide and implement them. I just wish the they (the politicians/judges, etc) would show a bit more understanding and concern for the consumer. After all, we're the ones who need protecting.

The title of this thread made me think there was an origami competition. :)
Anyway, I just joined the MacRumors team.
thanks for joining our team! let us know if you have any questions. just start a new thread and someone will try and help you. that i7 you have will fold great, and it is a good cause.
as for my folding output, i'm in the process of moving (first time home buyer!) and probably won't have much output in the next week.

Here's hoping Safari implements some sort of cookie manager and popup window blocker perferences similar to how Firefox's are.

How do you open localized strings?
Using qlmanage -p or vim, you can see the contents, but they look compiled.
But anyway to view the files properly?

where i have just started work (Grant Thornton) we use it, its a refreshing change to see Outlook not being used. it seems quite nice so far but then again it also feels relativly slow and some parts are rather 'comical' like the headers that you can put on your emails (or memos as called in notes), but all in all seems quite good and imporeved mac support is never a bad thing!

Here are the questions that remain to be officially answered:
Which voice plans qualify and which don't?
For those using Google Voice, is your own Google Voice number (since GV can be configured to call you) considered landline or mobile? What about the GV passthrough numbers for your non-GV contacts?
So the A-list and rollover minutes essentially became useful only for U.S. landline numbers, correct?

Figured I'd post the original in a seperate post as well. This is the full one before resizing to fit into the avatar specs, just thought it looked cool when it had all the frames and larger size. Just wanted to share...

Yeah I'm running 6.34/a5. If it happens again then I will definitely look into it deeper, but I think it may have been just bad luck.

hello,
my nano 2g recently did started doing something strange.
the buttons work properly when i press them. I can click, turn the ipod on and off, but the touch wheel function does not work at all. if I slide my thumb, no result shows on the ipod.
troubleshooting actions taken: I reset the ipod, downloaded a new version if itunes, and restored to factory settings.
no applecare at this point. I am willing to replace parts myself if need be.
any info on similar problems is helpful
thanks

You have to install the drivers from the snow leopard disk first. It should work fine. Then you can download the driver update to 3.1 or 3.2.
